Anyone know if I can get this game on Hulu TV, or any other streaming service in the Bay Area?

TIA

Your options:

Ethical: Get https://nflst.directv.com/ NFL Sunday Ticket streaming. You don't need dirctv if your address qualifies. It'll probably cost around $200 for the rest of the season since it's half over.

Unethical: Go to NFL Reddit streams.

You would think one time fox could do us in the Bay Area a solid and show the packers/rams game instead of the crapfest we are going to be forced to watch

Seriously, at this point, the packers/rams game may get even better ratings than the local game

I pay $400 for NFL Sunday Ticket Max streaming (I don't have DirecTV.... I justify the cost in that I spend no other money, and have never spent any money on any other NFL thing ever, in my life.)

Yet I also use the Reddit streams.

Why?

Because unlike DirecTV version of Sunday Ticket, which I had when I had DirecTV, you can only watch one channel at a time on Sunday Ticket Max streaming. (Or you only can have one device logged in at a time.)

So I'll watch the Redzone Channel on Sunday Ticket Max or a regular game on the big screen (streamed through Google Chromecast).

Then I'd have an iPad playing the Packers game through the Reddit stream.

(Since I live in Los Angeles, every Rams game is easiliy watchable/recordable on YouTube TV.)

The Reddit and Sunday Ticket streams are about 1 second apart. (Sunday Ticket streaming is about 2 or 3 seconds off from the actual broadcast...I can read what's about to happen on Twitter.)

The Reddit stuff is pretty good quality, but you can't watch on the big screen, and the stream stops too often. (Well, there is a way, but it's just too much trouble.)

A few weeks back when Rams played at Broncos I got an excellent reddit stream at 1080p/60fps that looked flawless on my big screen, also may depend on your internet (I have 250Mbit).

The NFL schedule-makers should've considered it.

In recent years, the NFL has put NFC games on CBS instead of their regular Fox home. It's called cross-flexing. That's why Jim Nance and Tony Romo called a Redskins-Cowboys game recently.

They could've put the 49ers game on CBS and shown the Packers/Rams game on Fox, but....

...as Tim Kawakami points out, another recent trend is having the Raiders and the 49ers play at the same time, which rarely happened up until a few years ago. So the Raiders game begins on CBS 20 minutes before the 49ers game.

As I said above, the Reddit streams are pretty good. The ones toward the top are usually the best.

Thanks for sharing Reddit streams. Not sure how it works, but i'll give it a try in a bit... I imagine one can also stream to the big screen via Chromecast, which I've done quite a bit before.

That said, I already ran an extra HDMI cable through the wall for such. I hope Apple will announce a new Mac Mini next week. If so, I will order one to be a dedicated media PC...
Sig test...

Here's the thing, I hate smart TVs because they get loaded with apps and I am always concerned with obsolescence, so I tend to avoid screens with that kind of crap as best I can and just go with a direct connection, thus I have barely looked into this (and yeah I have a 25 foot HDMI cable running across my floor but at least that makes my life much easier than fooling around with apps and the quality is best).

Here's what hasn't been talked about over the past week:

The Packers are a huge national team.

The Packers have a huge SoCal fanbase (see video below)...and the Pack haven't played in the Coliseum since 1990.

The Vikings fans had a massive presence a month ago at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Rams fans don't fill the Coliseums many seats...maybe it'll change with 7-0. But the last time they played at the Coliseum, they were 3-0.

The Dodgers game will be grabbing a lot of potential Rams attendees away.

Thus I expect it to be extremely noisy for Goff, as if it's an away game .... but Goff is 6-8 at the Coliseum and 12-4 away from the Coliseum, so it may not matter.

Anyways, this will be a weird game since I follow reporters for both teams on Twitter. And I want to see Rodgers win. And I want to see Goff win. Hopefully, they'll tie. (Just kidding).

Cal football isn't the only thing Goff and Rodgers have in common.

Headed to the game on metro. Packers fans are everywhere at Union station. It's feels like a packer home game based on what I'm seeing so far but I'll get a better sense as we get closer to the stadium.

That's what happens when you abandon a region for two decades. Locals bond with other teams. and what better team to bond with than the Packers?

(Of course, the Rams have the same issue that the Cal Bears have in OOC games vs. famous teams. Los Angeles is a great (and warmer) vacation destination, like the San Francisco Bay Area.)

CannonBlast

Yeah, it's not even close. I called a third of the stadium being packer fans. Flip that ratio.

There's much to like about the Packers. Their tradition and ownership stands out. That said,. I think the Rams shred the Pack. ARodg will show some magic but I'm guessing the cheesehead melt in the SoCal sun.

You would think there will be a big walk up crowd to see Goff and Company go 8-0.

It will be quite satisfying to Goff and Gurley to shred the Pack in front of a hostile crowd.

"It will be interesting to see how this team (the Packers) plays on the road against the Rams in Week 8, because L.A.'s offense is potent enough to dig the Packers into a hole so deep that Rodgers is in no position to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter" 24/7 Sports

Well, I guess that is why they play the game. I hope Goff beats the Cheeseheads and sends their fans walking circumspectly through South Central after the game.

Dropped td. Gurley dropping passes and settling for falling down short of the yard marker. Weak. Also weak that rams fans don't even show up for this. Goff deserves better. Does Rodgers have the red wisconsin unders on? There is only one true bear under center today.

Rams rolling. Hopefully a clown stomping of Packers in second half and a squirrely exit for their fans.
