What's the 411 on Levi Stadium Parking?

There is already a thread for buying tickets, but I thought I'd start another one for parking. I've never been to Levi Stadium before, so I know nothing about paid parking lots versus possible (free?) street parking, traffic congestion, and best route to get there from the East Bay.

We do not mind making a 20-30 minute walk to get to the stadium if it helps us avoid traffic congestion.

Any suggestions/tips?

Thanks.

For Niner games, lots of folks park in Mountain View and ride light rail to the stadium. Redbox may see lighter attendance and offer closer options.

I assume there will be plenty of parking in the Great America lot, assuming Great America is closed. Also, it looks like they've tarped off the upper deck for this game, so they aren't expecting a big crowd. Normally, they use the empty office lots on weekends as additional parking for 9er games, but that won't necessarily be available since the game is on a Monday afternoon.

You can buy a parking pass on Ticketmaster for $30.

I will be parking at the Great Mall in Milpitas and taking VTA to the game.

We attended the PAC 12 championship on Friday and parked in the blue 1 lot. We didn't have problems getting out of there afterwards and it wasn't too far of a walk back to the car. Attendance for the bowl looks like it should be pretty similar but you will be getting out around commute time. Hopefully commute traffic isn't too bad that week since it's New Year's week.

Any idea if tailgating is allowed at Levi's? I heard for 9er games, they made it difficult to tailgate and they want you to buy their stadium food...

Tailgating is allowed in some lots. I saw plenty of people tailgating in Blue Lot 1 Friday. Click on a lot to see if it is a tailgating lot.

From that map it looks like tailgating is permitted in most of the lots, but glass containers are permitted in none of the lots.

funny story, sad but true..

clicked the link, thanks, prepaid / reserved blue lot 1, and then noticed Ticketmaster receipt notation "Your Phone Is Your Ticket". which is a problem for luddites without one, me for instance.

online for several hours, helpful agent rediscovers and assures that one can park without bringing a phone, just by instead showing gate-keeper the purchasing credit card, photo id, and your order number. what could possibly go wrong.

Do you have a tablet (ipad) that you can bring? If so, you could install the Ticketmaster app on it and pull up the parking pass on it before you leave home.

Your scenario sounds ripe for disaster given that the parking lot attendants may not be familiar with the process you described.

Wife works down the road from stadium. Her company allows employees to use parking on weekends for game days (or visits to Great America).

Will probably also have some freebie tix for any takers - they did for last year's game...
Definitely easy peasy.

If you don't have a smart phone, you'll have the same problem getting into the stadium. No paper tickets are used for entrance into Levi's Stadium. You need a mobile device to receive and display your "ticket" to get into the stadium. Good luck!

Just lug the PC along with monitor, keyboard and mouse. And a portable generator. Fire up the generator, boot up the PC, log on and load up an image of your ticket, and you're GOLDEN!

Great America has their "Winterfest" going on, on the days they are open, it is evening hours only. On December 30, they are scheduled to be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

I guess that, in theory, this will keep parking from being an issue. Good luck to people trying to get in to Great American while the Redbox crowd is emptying out.

also see that "laptops" are not allowed. no answer yet, but this evening i sent a question to Levi whether tickets loaded on IPads can be brought in, like 7 X 10" w/case ? have to bail otherwise

I can't believe that they wouldn't allow iPads, but if you have an iPod, I'm confident that will work for you. It's absolutely absurd that Levi's won't permit paper tickets sent via email. Looks like they've just become too wrapped up in the Silicon Valley hi-tech crap, and don't care about us old farts. Let us know how you come out.

Hooray for the ATO team for circumventing the very stupid policy of the 49ers that requires mobile only entrance into the stadium. The Niners need to wake up and realize that not everyone (especially some senior folks) don't have iphones or equivalent.
