This may be the Reader's Digest condensed season, but at least Pac-12 football is underway. No idea for how long of course so we'll enjoy while we can. Anyway, as before odds are for the home team while my pick is in italics.

bRuins @ Colorado +7: Much as I love seeing Chip Kelly crash and burn it won't be this week. Ralphie was enjoying her extended summer vacation and wishes it had continued. Song stealers cover

Mildcats @ Mormon Marauders -14: Utes lost a lot of talent but not enough to be worried about a bunch of kittens who haven't even been box trained. Missionaries don't get as much as a smudge on their white shirts.

Spawn of Satan @ U$C -11: Cheaters are loaded as usual, and I just don't mean the players' bank accounts. However, Herman Edwards will find a way to beat the spread though an upset is unlikely.

Furd @ Rubber Duckies -10.5: Was 2019 an aberration for Furd? Does their band still suck even when not playing? Do we still get giddy when Shaw has a look of anguish? Maybe. Yes. Yes. Quackers cover.

Wazzoo @ River Rats -1: Rodents not that bad. Puddytats not that good. Taking Rodents to cover.

Mutts @ Cal PK: Will Musgrave finally show Bears what an endzone looks like? Will the defense still be stingy? Will a bunch of cardboard cutouts be hauled off by the Berkeley Police for toking up in the stands?
Taking Cal to win and this time before sunrise.

My picks:
Colorado with the points at home.
Mildcats with the points. Too many points in a weird opener game...
Spawn of Satan with the points, same argument, better teams
Ducks to cover.. same argument but Stanfurd sucks.
Beavs to cover (empty stadium but I'm sure they'll have that chainsaw audio blaring!)
Cal to win big. No close game, no lasting all night, no suspense.

Thank you Texicanus.

I'm going with Ruins as good weather and talent will prevail in the land of Ralphie.

In a normal year, this is take Utes and give points. Utah currently is in COVID meltdown (got 2 COVID Amber alerts in the last two days). Utah offense does also have a habit of starting slow. I'm taking the Wildcats and points.

ASU and taking points. Good reasoning above.

Ducks cover. Furd has massive inexperience in places that even excellent Furd QB/SWRs won't cover.

Beavers cover (this is hard one to call)

Cal wins a close game. Hoping Cal's improved offense is better the Ububs. See the defenses are somewhat equal (though worried about Cal inexperience at LB). Two good defensive minds face each other at. head coach. Key will be Cal's experienced o-lines ability to control LOS.

Yes UT - thanks so much for starting this - I was wondering if it was going to happen.

I'll take:

Cal to win, 'cause its a home game and we'll broken the jinx.

UCLA to cover vs Colorado, because the latter ended up so poorly last season.

Utah to win, but fail to cover (14 points is too big a spread): Arizona

USC to win, but fail to cover: ASU

Oregon to win and cover, especially for a home game

WSU to win, only because I like them, and although OSU is rising, I think the Cougars have enough in their tank to pull out a win.
