How long do you want to ignore this user?
About a year ago the father of Jamari Phillips posted here. His son was a freshman at Modesto Christian, a school Cal has a history with. Now Jamari is a sophomore, and the internet has told me that he has visited Cal and has an offer. He has blossomed into a national level recruit, including an offer from Kansas. He also led his team to the state open Finals after averaging over 20 pts per game, highlights below. He is #24 in white. He is 6'2'' or 6'3'' with a nice outside shot, very good fundamentals, and enough athleticism. He is better than in these highlights where he is being targeted by the other team and looks tired. He could be a program changer if he could be convinced to come here and bring some friends.

Agreed, saw him play Campo in Nor Cal finals and other than the hyped up taunting tech, was dominate down the stretch - confidence to take and make 2 huge shots to win the game. Very impressive and certainly should be a huge focus for the program to get. I was also very impressed with Mathany having watched his last 2 playoff games as well. He sees the court, solid ball handler, drive and dish as well as a very smooth shot. While it was an uphill battle to get him, given his long time friendship and teammates with Randy B son and relationship with Bennett, it was a recruit Cal cannot lose to a smaller, less proven conf for drafting players into the NBA.
