Any news on Kelly returning?

Next season is the rebuild - so there's that.
Might not get a lot of PT on a tourney worthy squad. This is not meant to demean the contributions he has made at Cal, but the talent level at a real contender is certainly much higher than he contends with in Berkeley.fat_slice said:

While there may be many teams that have a PF better than Andre, I'd also say that there are probably quite a few tournament caliber teams who either don't or have a senior graduating with a PF hole to fill. I'm sure he could find a pretty good team going into next season where he could come in and be a key contributor next year. Before he got hurt, Andre looked like a player that could make some money overseas - so I expected him to go that route. However, with NIL - maybe he can make more money AND play on a tourney team next year.

The inquiry was "any news" on Kelly returning. Apparently, the answer these posters are unable to make is "no".
. I thought that every year since Fox arrived was a rebuilding year. At this point, he needs to go and let someone else just build. Re implies that there was something here in the first place.BeachedBear said:

I have degrees from both Cal and Virginia and follow both programs closely. Unless, Virginia picks someone up in the portal or the team's leading scorer decides to return for a sixth year, I would project that Kelly could be a starter as long as he meets Tony Bennet's defensive standards (which are very high). Seasoned power forwards who shoot 60% from the floor and can rebound are hard to find. That's actually interesting... I remember when Fox was hired there were some articles written that mentioned that Fox coaches the "Pack Line" defense (maybe I have the name slightly wrong) that Tony Bennett also uses. There is one pretty good reason why Kelly might return, but I have no idea if it applies in his case: If he just really likes it here, he may come back. I know I stretched out my undergrad stay at Cal for awhile... because I enjoyed the time and because I could.
Back in the day, when there was a war and a draft, it was either twelve more units, or bone spurs.
