Why would anyone care about a team that went 5 - 12 in Conference last year?

Seriously.
What has been added to the equation to change that performance?

My total 4 years out the door tuition at Cal was less than $3000. That being the case, I figure the least I can do is buy football and hoop season tickets every year regardless of how good the teams are or if I even go to a game.

Mine was $3000 per year.
But Im not into rewarding mediocrity.
I'd rather make a private donation to a program that I actually believe in.

Same. Kind of like how oftentimes parents need to cut their kid(s) off financially for their own good so they learn to become self-sufficient and find success of their own making.

I'm here for basketball. But if I had money to donate I'd give it to Physics instead.

Agree it gets tiring. If you dont want to supportCal there are other programs that win more.

Tell me, what's your annual donation to Cal Athletics?
Do you donate in "general" to the athletic department, or do you specify a sport?
How much a year?

I don't see what the problem is here with DiabloWings' post? There isn't a whole lot to look forward to as long as Knowlton and Fox are here. I haven't gone to a game in years, can't afford season tickets as a donation and can't get excited about a 12th place team that plays ugly basketball. Oh, and I come to BI out of habit at this point because it surely isn't about excitement for the basketball program.

We have a National Championship water polo coach who knows how to get it "right".
We have a National Championship rugby coach who has proven himself and his program over the years.
We have a World Class Throws Coach in Track & Field that has Cal athletes repeatedly breaking NCAA Records.

And people are critical of me for not having any interest in a team and coach that have shown no evidence of going anywhere?

It's the internet - you could say that puppies are cute and offend a bunch of people. So it's not surprising that there are people out there that will argue with anyone disparaging the worst basketball program in D1 for the past half-decade.

Personally, I visit the basketball board for commiseration...

I like Cal Basketball, so I am renewing my season ticket. It's a good get-together with several of my ol' Cal buddies and I enjoy following and watching the team in its effort to win. Obviously, the better they are, the more I enjoy it, but I have no regrets about the dozen or so games I attended last season (except for that UCLA fan that wouldn't wear a mask).

As Nixon said, you have to experience the valleys, to appreciate it when you get to the highest mountain top. I don't know about that, actually: I wish Cal had won every single game for the 40+ years I've been following them, but words like that help me to hang in there!

To each, his own. Go Bears!

What a stupid, annoying post.

You think that we shouldn't come to this board if we don't support the **** show that the men's basketball program is currently?
