He should have gotten a shot in the show. The love he is showing for his alma matter is f'ing fantastic. I wish I could be there. I know, cheap sw flights.

(His tweets are f;ing inspirational)

Agreed - I think many of feel that way about him...except guess who? Cal Athletics. Zero engagement with our past. Zero passion. Zero pride. Just a bunch of zeros.

Jerome was so fun to watch and root for. I remember his soul crushing threes he would lay on teams and that half court buzzer shot to end the half in the tourney. Those were the days.

One of my favorites. His talent was obvious, but I used to get into so many arguments with people on this board that thought Knezevic was better.

This seems puzzling that the Athletic Department is so detached. Maybe because no one in the Athletic Department has any Cal history or ties? Or even enough awareness to include someone with that background in an advisory position? I imagine some of the big donors (apparently the only people JK will engage with) share some of this. I wonder why he tunes them out?

How is it possible to have an athletic department at a major program and drop the ball like this on alum outreach? Why isn't there a team or even a single person whose only focus is maintaining connections with all alums, organizing alum events, etc? Like I get a jillion emails/invites from the college of engineering all the time. How can the athletic department be so bad at this?

It is just crazy to me to hear of so many of the kids/siblings of Cal athletes not even considering Cal, and I feel like I want to bang my head against a wall every time... How much of a no-brainer is it for the AD to be inundating them with Cal stuff all the time?

Yes - I mean this is low hanging fruit and is why I am so pessimistic that these clowns will fight for us when it comes to conference realignment and other issues changing the landscape of college athletics and football in particular.

These morons have been given a silver platter to succeed - one of the best venues to watch college football, huge alumni base that has shown passion for football when we mattered and often when we did not, history (how many programs can claim a basketball and football national championship), and access to a large media and recruiting base. You really have to go out of your way to not succeed with this and here we are showing "untraditional excellence" at failing.

I wish it was appropriate throw to a mud pie at Knowlton's face.

The Athletic Department that scheduled a basketball game at the same time as the traditional Big Game bonfire rally?

The Athletic Department that couldn't even get cheerleaders to football games for most of the season?
Something every single high school in America manages to accomplish?

There are countless more examples of their ineptitude.

People laud Knowlton for his administrative skills, but seriously?

The fact he makes $1 million a year and has an 8 year guaranteed contract is criminal.

May land you in jail, but I think it's very appropriate.
