1-28 first year, then upwards....certainly worth an interview , age is good from my perspective at 41

Doubt JK would be comfortable which is a plus

This would be the type of hire that would differentiate us from the rest of the conference, and given Gates is unavailable, the next best thing may be a coach from one of the Cal basketball royal family, especially an alum with NBA connections who remains strongly connected to the university (he recently made a big donation to the Cameron Institute)

He has a P6 background, is a very good recruiter, coached NBA players, and has a playing background

Absolutely. He would be a home run (or triple, Gates is the home run candidate). Great energy, smart, obviously loves his players, must be a great recruiter. Even more than Gates last year, he will be a hot coaching commodity this year. The family connection would help. The only real concern is lack of West Coast connections.

Not saying he should be our top target, but definitely look into him

Back in the Shareef days, I recall his younger brother attending and playing at Pinole Valley. I think it was Amir? So he has some connection to the Bay Area and to a smaller extent with the program as well.
