This is a real barn burner. I saw two games in that facility. The first was Kidd's Bears vs Nash's Broncos. The 2nd was Monty's Bears going one and done in The Dance.

In relative terms, there are as many Cal fans at the game as participating in this thread. Thank you Cuonzo, Wyking, and Mark for delivering the kill shot to Cal hoop.

Just turned it on. 11 points in 15 minutes. This has to be a low point. C'mon Bears, pick it up. The T did not help.

6 minutes with (with 516 to go in half).
And Madsen gets a T (and he was right to complain)
Cal has missed its last 15 shots (which doesnt include empty trips from turnovers and blocks)

And Cal finished the half with zero assists. At least that can't be worse in the second half.

Also we're shooting 15.6%. That could be worse in the second half.

I understand we're not as long or athletic, but I'd love to see us blitz and play PnR D like they do.

They are shutting down our guards… they aren't getting any open looks

Sissiko is tough and plays 110%

Madsen is not the answer. Hate to say it, but this is a dream Knowlton hire as Madsen is just such a nice man it will be hard to oppose Knowlton extending him over and over again after slightly below average seasons.

Haase doing color on TV. Looks like he lost some weight from his coaching days.

Blacksher has been horrible since returning from his injury. Turns the ball over way too much and his shot has been off. I was really impressed with him at first but his decision making has been crap since his return.

Tucker should not get many minutes, if any. Ball sticks with him and he isn't quick enough to do much other than be a game manager.

Wilkinson needs to play more because we need more scoring.

JOJ is also not a reliable scorer/shooter.

Really miss Omot's offense.

Campbell is a tough defender but not a scorer.

Petraitis hustles like crazy. But he isn't a reliable scorer.

16 points in a half is horrible. Zero assists. All the other team has to do is focus on Stojakovic. If he isn't scoring, then we aren't scoring. Unfortunately, he is not good defensively. There is a reason why Furd's game plan was to attack him. Which they did repeatedly when they made that huge run at the end of the 1st half.

This is a coaching issue. Love Madsen's passion but he is not a P4 head coach. He just isn't. The reason why we have zero assists is because our sets are all about trying to drive to the hoop (hero ball). It is also why we have so many turnovers. Get rid of these "pro" sets. They just don't work for us. Try screening away sometime.

Defensively, work on defending the high pick and roll. A lot.
