It was an OK first half, but we're really just playing them even. How do we sustain a run in the 2nd half? Andrej with another 30-spot? Wilkinson? Will the real Jaylon replacement/team leader please step forward?

Wilkinson came in and scored a quick eight points to get us back in the game then had to sit with two fouls. They're blanketing Andre, who has only four points but a couple of nifty assists. Cal up 35-32 at the half.

Blacksher's gotta go… bust of the season and a non-factor tonight even with a lot of floor time. I'm sure he's a nice guy and a lot of experience, but it's too late in the season for a hopeful project.

Nothing like 1 am Eastern time hoops in the double bonus with free throws every 5 seconds (Zzzzzzz). The only thing that woke me up was bearister's obscure reference to an assistant coach who retired 12 years ago. Ah nope, back to sleep.

First ACC win in Cal history, congrats to the team, hope there are many (several?) more. This was a good effort and got us out of the cellar, let's bring it to the Hokies on Sat.

In my years and years of playing extremely low level pick up ball, when you've got a guy on your team taking every shot, the energy on your team begins to dip. And then when you actually get the ball, you make sure to shoot it, cause you know you ain't getting it back.

When Andrej made those two passes around the end of the 1st H, you could see the energy of the team immediately change. The D got way better, the energy got better and we shared the ball better.

When Andrej can make that key pass, it makes our offense so much better.

Shout out to madi as well. I've been saying he's been playing soft all year, and today you can clearly see his talent. He just needs to remember he's bigger and stronger than everyone else. When he plays with energy, it completely changes what our D can look like.

When he plays with passion, we are a completely different team. Stojakovic's playmaking is underrated and we need more of that.

First game I've seen for some time.

Great to see our defense toughen up after giving up a few wide open threes early. Especially Mady, who was a lion tonight.

Also great to see the shots spread around. Everyone got in on the action. And to see us come out strong after halftime.

I was annoyed by the inconsistency of the refs - they called nothing in the first half then got really ticky tacky as the second half wore on.

The amplified noise was even worse than I remember, obtrusive even through ear muffs. Shocky, how can we get the event people straightened out or replaced?

This was DJ's best game as well. Handled the ball. Made some shots. Theo on the radio broadcast picked DJ as the player of the game, not Andrej or Madi.

That 32% shooting number for Va is Cal's best defensive effort all year. Should we believe in the D again or is Va that bad of an offense?

I'm not sure you'll find a slower, less athletic team in the ACC. So let's see how the next few games go first
