Breaking news,

Justin Pippen, Scottie Pippen's son and the #73 ranked player in the 2024 high school class who did not start at Michigan, but played in everyone game has committed to play at Cal next season.

Justin is listed as a 6'3" point guard who averaged 1.6 points this season. It will be interesting to see how he does in Berkeley and he has three years of eligibility left.

Go Bears!

Wow, Pippen, Stojakovic, Marbury, and Vandeweghe all coached by Madsen.

We had some in the past of course, but if they all stay we'll have some sort of all NBA family on board lol. Hopefully, somehow, some of the names translate to good basketball before they're done.

Lots of talent here but Michigan fans seem to be breathing a sigh of relief as he apparently entered the portal in the middle of their tournament run and was a problem in the clubhouse. Hope Madsen is on top of this as the last thing we need is two sons of former nba stars feeling like their star isn't being allowed to shine as bright as they think it should.

Please show us these posts. I don't recall or see anything saying those facts about Pippen

Yeah he didn't leave in the best way, similar to how Nando left. But it sounds like aside from leaving the team early, he was a well respected individual on the team

Didn't he average something like 6mpg and 1ppg? It's not like he was going to get any meaningful run in the tourney short of garbage time.

seems a bit redundant given how crowded our backcourt is. it would've been nicer to get another tall SG who can come off the bench instead. i'm still somewhat optimistic with this pickup though, given his older brother's trajectory at Vanderbilt

His brother started almost every game as a freshman.

Maybe we can find a coach's son for another role....

Not saying it's likely or warranted at all, but keeping with the theme, Golden Bear Nick Kerr is the head coach of the Santa Cruz Warriors. That's something. And he helped develop the G League Defensive Player of the Year for the Warriors. Learning the Warriors offense and theory, which comes from the trees of Phil Jackson and probably more so of the Greg Popovich side, is great training. But it is very different implementing that offense with near NBA level players vs trying to do it with college players, which will prob not work. It is early in his coaching career but I'll be interested to see how he grows. who knows, maybe one day he'll be a viable candidate and want to come home lol.

Loved it when he would come in late in a game and hit a three.
