In all my (many) years of basketball at Harmon and Haas, I have never seen a Cal football team take it to the level of support they did this evening. They sat in the south end zone in their white team jerseys. They cheered, jumped, hooted, razzed, danced (40--wow!) and just had fun. I know UCLA felt their presence. I am so impressed.

If this is an example of their team work, they are something special.

Sorry I just did a post as you did. We're on the same wave length. I have a feeling it was Sonny encouraging them to go. He already seemed excited to go to Haas. The assistant coaches (esp. Yenser) have also Tweeted about the basketball program the last few weeks. That's very cool to root each other on.

That was nice to see. Gotta hand it too those guys, because you know they are busy. But then again, I hear the play book can be learned in 1 week. LOL.

Big change from the Tedford days.

The announcer on the radio said he had been doing Cal basketball for 20+ years, and had never seen the whole football team there, dressed in their jerseys. He thought is made a differnce in the game.

What a great idea!!

Very positive sign indeed.

Best show of unity by a Cal athletic team that I've ever seen. I counted about 70 football players present and cheering wildly as well as Dykes and some of his coaching staff. Kudos to Dykes for making this happen. I'm getting more and more excited each week about the coming football season!

I thought the best part was how Solomon and Crabbe each woofed it up to them following a powerful play in the first half (like crabbe's one-handed jam) and the football team responded accordingly.. seemed to really pump everyone up
