At the beginning of the season Cal was generally picked for fifth place. And in spite of the poor play of late they end up tied for fourth. Does this count as doing better than expected, as they have for several years other than the year they were picked first and finished first? I think very few Cal fans would be satisfied with the string of losses and yet...........here they are finishing higher than predicted. Now, let's see if this is good enough to get into the Big Dance.

No. Media poll was for 5th. Many said that undersold Monty. Those critics were right. Wierd year though - the 5-0 start got us too optimistic. But in the end going to be an OK year. We are definitely on the bubble but another consecutive tournie invite will be huge. Go Bears!.

I believe you are correct, just before heading into conference play. Of course we all know better, since you should never bet against a Monty team finishing in the top half!
