Maybe...

Player of the week honors to Eastern Washington's Venky Jois. Jois scored 38 against Seattle and against Eastern Oregon, hitting 28 of 39 from the floor and 20 of 23 from the free throw line in the two games combined. He pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked seven shots. Better yet, the Australia native (given name Venkatesha) has a 3.51 GPA in pre-me

But wait, look at the competition he played against....

Ok, he scored 20 and grabbed FOURTEEN rebounds against Indiana
And he wasn't even their leading scorer in the game. Two of their guards scored 25+ points
This is one team you do not want to see on your NCAA bracket and we've got them on our schedule

They are 7-1 with their only loss to ranked SMU on the road when Jois only notched a pedestrian double-double

Cal better bring their A game

I saw Jois earlier this year in that 8 am game they played to tip off the college basketball season. In the first half he was 0-6 from the floor but he came out in the second half and went 11-12 and played like a beast. I've seen him play for the last 2 years when they come to play Sac St. He was a good player (Big Sky freshman of the Year) but this year he looks to be a bit thinner and a whole lot quicker. They have a very good mid-major team with Tyler Harvey and Drew Brandon. Bears better be ready for this team...

This would be my vote. At 7' and 240 lbs, he's a load in the paint but also has an excellent mid range game, is mobile and can pop outside to hit a 3 when teams sag in. He was 6-6 beyond the arc in a game last season. This year, he's a 55% FG and 44% for threes. That's a really tough match-up.
