One of the crosses modern coaches have to bear is the impact of the AAU culture. Modern players have several years exposure to questionable coaching before arriving on campus but that was uncommon in Pete's day. He got relatively clean canvases to work with so his "teaching" approach could be more effective. Also, no one/done prima donnas to mess with chemistry while waltzing through their year with 1 eye on the NBA draft projections although, IMO, most legit one year guys are serious ballers and not problematic. It's the guys who think they are but aren't who are the problem.
