If, between now and next season, everyone on the team spends the majority of their time shooting 3s, would it be possible to make up for this loss to next year's team (keeping in mind that, the following year, another prolific 3-shooter will come on board)?

Here is the statement. "I committed to Cal as a high school sophomore and signed with the Golden Bears last fall primarily based upon my close relationship with Cuonzo Martin and his ability to develop me not only as a player but also as a person.
Unfortunately that possibility no longer exists for me at Cal due to Coach (Cuonzo) Martin deciding to accept the Missouri job.
Due to those factors I just listed, I have decided to re-open my recruitment and explore all possible opportunities and options. This is in no way a reflection on Cal as an institution or program. Cal is a tremendous school with a historic basketball tradition.

Hey, if he does, that could be a good thing for us.
Remember the last guy (Garret Sim) that flipped to Eugene right before Monty came in? And we lucked out with Jorge instead?
And then Sim went o-fer vs Cal the next 4 years.

Bird and Mathews came in same year, same position. It always struck me as odd.
Ultimately, the team was not big enough for the two of them, and Jordan left.

Now then, Baker and Dyson would appear to be a re-do of that situation.
Could it be that Baker sees already that Dyson is going to get the starting nod ahead of him, and is deciding to leave sooner rather than later?

Or worse, could it be that Coach Jones had a sit-down honest talk with Baker?
I know there are rankings that say Baker can shoot like a demon, and I know he is the D-1 state champion, but his stat lines of late don't impress incredibly so. And it appears that the talk on Dyson is he's got more of athletic body and therefore greater potential upside.

Just throwing it out there to see what sticks.

Could be that Baker is the bomb and everyone and their sister has come to Roosevelt to steal him from Cal as soon as the opening of Martin's departure occurred.

Jordan and Bird could play the 2 and the 3. That works just fine.
But I agree that at PRESENT both Baker and Dyson would be undersized against a lot of Pac-12 3s.

Anyway, we have a huge problem for next year baring some amazing rabbit out of the transfer hat.

The loss of Jemarl Baker would be forgotten rapidly if The Cal Basketball juggernaut could convince the 4star SD 6'4" Daejon Davis or 4 star SG 6'5" Jay Nowell to sign with the Bears.

Geez. So why did we sign Wyking? I assumed part of it was to keep this class.

What is exactly Wyking's strengths? Xs and Os? Charisma? Recruiting? Connections to hire a good staff? What made him worth 5 years? I'm really trying to find out what it is.

Moore and Rooks not leaving. The rest of the recruiting class still coming. Why Baker thinks Cuonzo would develope and improve him is beyond me. Better chance of Wyking doing this.
