What are all 1,500 fans planning to attend going to do tonight instead?
I think I'll watch the Hampton game again. Not sure if it will be the first or second half. Depends on how I want to feel about things.
We will huddle in our panic rooms, wondering if we dare remove our N95s long enough to take sustenance.EricBear said:

I watched the Hampton game last night. Love Andre Kelly. Such great hands and feel for the game. Really like how he can take a dribble or two after a defensive rebound and get us going on the break. Opens things up. Teams might start sitting on that once there is enough film on him, but for the most part I think he will continue to be able to do it. He and Vanover are going to be real trouble in a couple of years. Against Hampton there was a neat inbound play under our hoop in the second half, only a few seconds remained on the shot clock. Vanover is so tall, and such a good shooter, it's difficult to prevent the ball from going to him and him getting off a shot. We just tossed it to him and he got a nice look. Nice option.bearister said:EricBear said:

Probably spend the time reading and contributing to the Air Quality vs Big Game threads on the Football board.
If you watch the Hampton game I dare you, no, I double f'ing dare you to tell me that Andre Kelly is not a SERIOUS BALLER! Wes Unseld, Jr. we have on our hands.

Yeah, where is three pointer launched from a 7'3 guy? 13 feet? It is goal tending per se if you block it. Eric, you worked in my law firm one summer when you were at Cal. I worked with John Ricksen for 36 years and with Rupe for 20 or so.

Thank you Bear Insider for your email announcing the cancellation. I'm still waiting for an email from Cal Athletics, but I guess they expect season ticket holders to be frequently checking their social media.

Saw John and his wife on tv in their seats at the game on Tuesday. Such commitment.
There is actually a Detroit Mercy Basketball board? Wow. Didn't even think to look for that.oskidunker said:
Detroit fans not happy. They say only date to reschedule is dec 23. They were counting this as a needed win.
LOL their CBI hopes have been dashed.oskidunker said:

I can't understand how ANYONE could think Rene Herrarias was a good coach. His record at Cal was under .500, and his record in the PCC was even worse.helltopay1 said:
John Ricksen and his wife live in Rossmoor. I've been there for nine (9) years and I've never seen him. NEVER. The only time I ever see him is at the Cal games. We have a gym here at Rossmoor and I've never seen him in the gym. I've also seen Herrerrias only once in nine years. Never at the gym. Spends all his time playing golf. Damn good golfer. I played for Herrerrias when he coached the 100 lb team at SI in 1951. Smart as a whip. Playing for Hewrrerrias was not a walk in the park. He cut a lot of good players. Being a good player was not enough for Herrerrias. If he didn't like you, you got cut. I talk to a few of those players today, and, they are still smarting from that treatment. I later transferred to Lowell. Ben Neff, the coach at Lowell, never cut a player the entire time I was there. Sure, if you were lousy, you didn't play, but, you still got to sit on the bench and you even played during garbage time. Still, I have to admit: The best two coaches in my day were Herrerrias and Sid Phelan of Washington. Not even close.

I had some cases with one of his son in laws (don't know how many he has. This guy's initials are DM). One of the best dudes I encountered in my career. He used to ride his Harley to that Sturgis shindig.
