yes, ... but

Surely do but they have to quit making careless mistakes like the giveaway that led to the St Louis goal just now in the first period. Why they have a real chance: they're skilled, they're deep, and they're finally healthy just at the right time. Add in improved goaltending and the absence of the two best regular season teams, and the door is open for them. But having a chance and actually doing it are two different things.

there's always next year.

In the end they were NOT healthy at all. And the persistent tendency to give up a goal at the very start of the game did them in. Sunday's game on home ice was a disaster, exacerbated by the (illegal) hits to the head that felled Hertl and Pavelski. We'll see what changes they make before next season. But this year was a disappointment, since it seemed they really did have a chance to go all the way.

And sometimes you need a hot goal tender to get you over the edge, like St Louis had. Binnington for the Blues was outstanding!
