Getting into the NCAA tournament requires a good (top-60ish) NET ranking and some quadrant one wins (vs. top-30 at home, top-50 at neutral site, top-75 on the road).

11. Oregon
18. Arizona
21. Stanford
23. Colorado
43. Washington
62. Utah
72. USC
76. Oregon St.
127. Washington St.
179. UCLA
184. California

Gaming the NET requires a soft schedule of teams you should beat by about 10 points. Stanford was #11 until they lost to Kansas at Maples and dropped all the way down to #21. Oregon won at home against one of the worst teams in D1 yesterday and moved up 3 spots.

Schools with the softest schedules are likely most overrated by the NET. Stanford (#295), Oregon St. (#323) and Washington St. (#350) all had soft schedules according to Sagarin.

Schools with tougher schedules are likely most underrated by the NET. Oregon (#46), Arizona St. (#71), Cal (#95), Utah (#119) and Arizona (#123) had the toughest non-conference schedules.

How the teams play in conference will determine how far up or down they move relative to each other, but the average NET rankings for the full conference won't change much. Utah (and maybe USC) should be considered bubble teams right now, but the 5 teams above them will be in if they all play as expected. Of course there will be surprises over the next couple months.

Based on preseason records I'd break the conference up into to two divisions, much like football.

Instead of Pac-12 North and Pac-12 South we have Pac-12 Strong and Pac-12 Weak.

While the Strong are all competing for NCAA bids, I'm hoping we can beat out Washington State and UCLA to win the Pac-12 Weak division and claim the booby prize.

7 teams getting likely in going into tonight's games, based on the NCAA's official numbers:
#13 Arizona
#15 Oregon
#17 Stanford
#30 Colorado
#41 Washington
#47 Utah
#48 Oregon St.

2 more in striking range:
#70 USC
#71 Arizona St.

3 with no real chance:
#122 Washington St.
#140 UCLA
#182 California

Best for the conference's NCAA tournament revenues if the top-9 beat up on the bottom 3 and win their home games.
