inspired by the thread on Growls wondering how the top XFL team would fare against a LSU, Alabama or Clemson, here are some Cal Basketball games that I would pay to see:
Cal vs. the Santa Cruz Warriors (Golden State Warriors' "G League" team): I'm pretty sure we'd get killed, but I'd like to see how it would go. If we were down by 30 with ten minutes left, I'd still be watching (and wouldn't need to feel bad about our performance, necessarily).
Cal vs. WNBA Champions: Again, almost certainly a lop-sided game (with Cal on top this time), but it would be interesting.
Cal Women's Team vs. the top local boy's high school team. Once again, probably not a close game (boys would win), but interesting. I guess a game like this is never played, lest it "diminished" the women's game, but, to me, it doesn't diminish them at all. They are what they are, namely as good a women's college basketball team as can be fielded here.
Even though I attend the majority of Cal's home games (men's), some of the match-ups get a little dull, seeing us play yet another local team, or some mid-major team from across the country. I'd rather switch things up and see any of the above, if for nothing than the novelty of it.
Thoughts?
