On Tuesday, it will be Leilani McIntosh and Marta Suarez with Charmin and on Wednesday it will be Keonte Kennedy and Grant Newell with Madsen. We'll be there to cover it.

Next week, Pac-12 coaches and student-athletes will preview the upcoming basketball seasons at the Conference's 2023 Basketball Media Days in Las Vegas - the women on Tuesday, Oct. 10 and men on Wednesday, Oct. 11. Coaches and two student-athletes from each Pac-12 program are set to take part, and the Conference announced today the student-athletes who will represent their teams at the season's tipoff event.

Coverage of Basketball Media Days will be available across Pac-12 Networks, Pac-12.com and the Pac-12 Now app, with Ashley Adamson and Mary Murphy hosting the Women's Basketball coverage, and Guy Haberman and Don MacLean leading Men's Basketball duties.

Team availabilities will be carried live from 9:00-11:30 a.m. PT and 12:30-3:00 p.m. PT each day.
Press conference schedules and additional details for Pac-12 Networks' coverage will be published on Pac-12.com in the coming days.

Looking forward to seeing where we are ranked in the PAC12 coaches pre-season poll this year. Are there going to be believers or skeptics?

Smith, McIntosh, Surez To Appear At Pac-12 Media Day - California Golden Bears Athletics (calbears.com)

The selection of Suarez as a Cal representative is a surprise. She only played two years at Tennessee. As I speculated previously, I think that she might be a more formidable player than her stats might suggest. Otherwise, I cannot come up with a reason why she would be chosen for media day to represent Cal. GO BEARS!

As I mentioned in another forum it's the same as our men - 1 returning player, 1 incoming transfer, HC. Maybe these players really want to attend or are particularly good interviews?

Looks like our own interview is scheduled for 9:50 on Tuesday on the PAC-12 Network. I am going to tape all of' the team interviews and then listen in to some selected ones over the next several weeks. USC has five grad transfers coming in along with #1 ranked recruit JuJu Watkins. Aaliyah Gayles is also practicing again after that terrible shooting incident from a year ago. Will be interesting to get a report on this restructured team from LG.

We'll have stories and video, too. The lunchtime sit-down is always the best part of media days.

I know I always thought of these things as "rewards," or, at the very least, bringing forward the most experienced voices, so more likely to say something of note.
But, I would speculate now that the "narrative" and "messaging" is emphasized more than previously. That is, if a transfer adds something positive about their transition and reasons for coming to Cal, then just maybe that gets to other potential transfers.
Just spit-balling here, it's an interesting question.
