Alabama's schedule thus far hasn't been that taxing it seems? They pounded Clemson. There other wins are over Columbus State, Alcorn State, New Orleans, Alabama A&M, Troy, Norfolk State, ULM, Alabama State....They play Georgia State today.

Where would we be if we had won the MSU game?

One thing Charmin has done very well this season has been keeping scoring margins up over weaker teams. Relative scoring margins are one part of the NET ranking algorithm.

Wow, Charmin received a compliment! Let me get back on my feet.

NET program sucks (excuse my languarge). Vandy loses to MSU by about the same margin and is number 7 and we are 25. Go figure.

A win over Alabama will likely be of even more value to our own NET ranking as the season progresses. They are only #23 because they have not yet played and beaten anyone good. However.they will soon enter the SEC season where they will play other highly ranked teams. Last year, they finished fourth in their league and then made it to the second round of the NCAA's,. If we beat them and then they have a similar season in the SEC as last year, the NET computer will give more and more credit for victories over them. So it is a moving target rather than a single data point,

I checked. Alabama has 9 players 6' and above with 4 of those being 6'3" or above (2 at 6'4" and 1 who is 6'5") …Georgia State has only 4 at 6' or above with their tallest at 6'3". We will just have to be sure to hit all our baskets. ;-)

Let us enjoy that Cal is #25...and Stanford is #35. Cal is #5 out of the 18 ACC teams.
