Drosouni came out of nowhere to not only play in the last game, but to make a valuable contribution. I did notice that three of her four assists were passes to Lula for quick-shot three-pointers. I would think that coaches will look at the film and if Drosouni doesn't represent a threat to drive or shoot herself, they will try to close out that passing lane. But overall, Drosouni plays with confidence and shows potential,

It could be a comfort level with Lulu. And familiarity. They both came in as freshmen last year.

At the post-season last April I had a chance to talk with Anastasia. I asked if she played PG or SG, she said she could play both. Apparently so and that's good news.

I actually wish the non-conference part of the season was twice as long. We are seeing the evolution and emergence of some very interesting younger players.

Anastasia scored her first bucket as a cal player the prior game, but this was the first time she played in primetime with some extended minutes.

23 minutes, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1-2 shooting, 2-2 FTs

Those are solid stats for someone playing their first significant college minutes

I saw a player who knew what to do with the ball, and knew where to be on defense. Loved the old school give an go to Williams for a layup.

She's making a case to get more PT, probably over freshmen Lola Donez who is probably a slightly better defender, but not the passer as Anastasia. We will have to see who is the better shooter. Lola shoots with confidence with a high arching shot, but they haven't fallen for her so far. I expect they will as Lola gets more PT and gains more confidence.
