Does anyone know when the first open practice is?

There are so many unknowns this year that it will be hard to keep track of them all in a single practice. But hopefully a few of the newcomers will really stand out and announce their presence.

My guess is that it might be in late October before the exhibition game against Westmont College (October 28) and before they leave for Paris for the season-opening game against Vanderbilt (November 3).

I should be back by then.

Just received this in an email this morning:

Block Party | Our Annual Block Party & Open Practice will be held on Saturday, October 11th at Haas Pavilion and Spieker Plaza! Make sure you mark your calendar and see you next month!

More info on time, etc. to come.

Note: Cal Football has a BYE that weekend.

DAMN. I'll be in England visiting the younger girl (who spent much of her childhood in Haas) and the grandkiddos (one of whom was cuddled by Reshanda, Brittany and Courtney in turn when she was a baby). Well, at least BearBloke can go and report back to me.

Thanks, Stu. Not always easy in the U.K. to follow WBB, but I've been up at all hours, BST, watching Taurasi score 37 points for the Mercury and Aari McDonald lead the Cats to a WNIT championship; I'll find a way of watching/hearing the W.
