This was the largest straw hat band assembled for the season. theee were four tubas. And they were loud and Cal let them dominate instead of he canned music.

biggest crowd of he season. Must have been close to 4,000. And the crowd was loud without provoking them with the artificial noise.

I learned tonight that Cal and Stanford played the first women's basketball game in 1896. I wasn't there. I just missed.

Introduced a lot of former Cal players from the past and some were really short. Must have been forty of them. most recognizable were Layishia and Alexis Gray Lawson.

One woman celebrated her 104 th birthday at the game. I may be a little off but she was over a hundred.

Definitely the best game of the season. If we could beat Notre Dame next week then we might have something. We are a pretty good defensive team when Sakima plays. Our wings are all good size.

Seems like they call a lot of offensive fouls on us when we bang into someone inside and the are inside the ring beneath the basket. I thought if you were in the circle and defensing then contact went against you.

Who is going to the game against Notre Dame?

I love the live music and was pleased to hear more of it today.

That makes more sense. Really great when there is a good crowd. I think it rattled the young Stanford team. Good to see the Rivera's were one of the last to leave.

After the team and coaches left the floor after the game, Charmin came running back out from the locker room to lead the Cal Band in one song.

Priceless.

I am going......My son bought courtside chair tickets for both the Notre Dame and Louisville games. My expensive seat is on the top row of the bleachers so I can lean against the wall!

Was very impressed by the band's size this afternoon. (I always count as they march in, and it was about 60 today, I believe?)

You might be saying the same thing, I'm just being specific.

If I have it right, I think the match was the very first intercollegiate matchup for women in any sport.

I think that's a really cool feather in the cap of the two rival schools.
