We have some serious competition for her commitment.

Ashley has official visits planned or already taken to: Virginia, LSU, Texas, Miami, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Rutgers.

Go Bears!!

If Charmin & Co can land this five-star recruit over the high-level competition listed, I will be super impressed.
Cal has playing time available because of the departure of the team's top four guards. GO BEARS!

currently the cal guards for 2027 will be Amhorn, Sow, and Husbands. Would McCalla be one of the starters? And would that be more important to her than playing on top tier team like SC that has five other bonafide starters?

I think Charmin will also look at the transfer portal for experienced guard(s) like she did when she found Mjracle and incoming Shannon Dowell.

Hard to tell what a top recruit is looking for in a program. An established one or one on the rise? She'd definitely have more playing time as a Bear.

Do you mean Carly Amborn? We'll also have 2026 freshie Ruby Perkins and perennial academic award winner Sofia Bowes.

Then AFAIK under the new 5 year rule any of our 2026 seniors could come back for another year if they wanted to.

I believe that the rule states that a student-athlete can play four seasons over a five-year period. Do any of the four seniors have additional eligibility?

The rule used to be 5 to play 4, now it's 5 to play 5 for players who are eligible in the 2026-27 season.
