I noticed that in the Montana State sweep that nine players participated. Ashley Li, Peyton DeJardin, Paige Morningstar & Sophie Scott DNP. Those listed are all frosh-soph players that have seen PT previously. Have they been surpassed by others or are some injured? Could the coaching staff be dividing up the playing time between the two matches today & tomorrow. Just curious... Obviously, I'm a novice fan that follows the team casually to see how they're doing. I also watch the team on occasion on tv.

those nine players are the rotation for Cal. Ava took over for ashley Li. she may still not be ready to play. sophie is the third player at MB. peyton is behind ava and ashley. not sure why. peyton is not playing. paige won't play unless weak team like reno and maybe 2nd and 3rd sets. I believe the coach is trying to keep a proper rotation without getting out of synch. sharpening up for conference play. kendall is serving specialist. next week will be the test against stanford. watching them against florida.tonight. replay from aug. 29. florida won 3-0. florida's defense was superb. blocking and digs. their serving also put stanford out of system. editting my post. montana state beat oregon state 3-2 , but lost to reno 3-1. so reno is a better team even though record is not as good. So coach may play her 9 player rotation again sat. against UNR.

LodeBear, I just watched Stanford beat previously undefeated #3 Louisville in a reverse sweep! Hopefully, that grueling match and the trip back to the Bay Area will cause the vaunted Stanford squad to be worn out on Tuesday.

We'll have to serve tough, especially to Kendall Kipp and Caitie Baird, to get them possibly out-of-system and block some of their attacks. On our side, we have to continue to receive and pass well.

I know no one expects us to win, but that's why they play these matches. GO BEARS!
