This is an awfully written article and a disservice to Time readers. A rather mundane story about GOTV and election fairness presented in a sinister way. In the end it reports that groups wanted people to be able to vote and they wanted their vote to count and they were up against a President that wanted to steal the election.
And conservatives are dumb enough to think this story vindicates them because their brains are trained to only pick up on the sinister.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the article. It is very clear what it is saying and it is an important story that a lot of effort had to go into protecting the fairness of the election, it is clear that no one at any point was talking about impacting the vote. It is clear that they were talking about combatting the messaging and false challenges they knew they would get from Trump. There is one line in there that was stupidly phrased as Trump was right, meaning Trump was right that they were waiting with a concerted effort to counteract his bullshyte.
We can't write every piece considering how dim witted traitors who actively cheer on physical attacks on our government are going to spin them. Because they are going to spin regardless. It would be like checking every article involving a Jewish person to see if a Neonazi would use it to claim Jewish conspiracy or checking all media involving a Black person to see how a white supremacist will take it. They will do what they do. Ignoring and shunning is the better strategy

Yes, but it's a real chore getting to the end of the article, much like some of your posts (haha - just poking fun at you).
In the meantime, the article starts with talk of "shadow" this and that and heavy lifting from the word "they". It starts off sinister sounding and then bores you with mundane details of an honest effort to protect democracy. Just poorly written, likely purposefully so to generate more clicks than it otherwise would have received.
iirc 60 years ago there were only two weeklies worth reading for political junkies. Time for Republicans, and Newsweek for the rest of us.OaktownBear said:
As an aside, Time is a shell of what it once was.
Newsweek went south before Time did. I remember reading both avidly in high school as I was studying for the SAT. Both were great for analyzing the context in which SAT words were used. Written media as a whole are so much worse now than they were even 10 years ago. NYT had a few scandals in the past but their credibility which was at one point unimpeachable is now hard to defend. Wall Street Journal has kept its reputation as a conservative but reputable resource for business oriented folks like me. The New Yorker is still a fun read. Overall, I find BBC to be one of the more objective sources.smh said:iirc 60 years ago there were only two weeklies worth reading for political junkies. It can't be both, you can't understand something you haven't read.

America gets the media it wants. Journalism doesn't sell.

You love this country by shatting on it. Interesting. Were you loving the country while antifa was burning it down? Or when the uniparty is sending our boys to die for oil..did you love it then? Maybe when you shiffted all the manufacturing work to india and china leaving the lower 25% of our population to work at ****ing Walmart. Bet you loved that shatt. Want to find a traitor. Look in the mirror.

I hated the summer riots and fought with OTB over his defense of it. However, I am baffled by you defending Trump and the Republican party's attempt to subvert our democracy. What type of conservative are these Republicans? What really is the Republican platform? State rights? Isn't that why we are fighting for the electoral college? Do the states not have the right to determine (with the laws interpreted by their courts) on the voting procedures? And in the midst of a pandemic, why are the Republican so ****ing intent on making it so hard to vote? Voter fraud? Where the hell are the voter frauds? I have read more instances of Trump cult members attempting voter fraud than Biden supporters. What is your objection in clear terms?

I'm not a republican. Hell I was a democrat up until Obama's 2nd term. I didn't even vote for Trump in 2016. But I saw what was going on. The media was turning into an attack dog. Trump was an a-hole. 100% agree, but what he did I was totally in favor of minus his healthcare platform. I was in favor of controlling immigration A LOT more than we do. I was in favor of pulling our troops out of countries we have no business in. I was in favor of decoupling with China. I was in favor or leveling out the trade inequality with a number of nations.including the bs NAFTA.
You say "Do states not have the right to interpret voting procedures?" seriously....democrats cry every single year about redistricting. You think that's fair? cause I don't. Redistricting is bull****, the same with the crap that went on this election. Hell even democrats were *****ing about electronic voting and its vulnerabilities. Now that Trump is , its a complete 180. Whether you agree or not I saw a lot of sketchy things going on in Detroit, Pennsylvania, Georgia.etc Those things deserved to be decided by the courts, but instead the courts passed the buck. They dismissed I think all legal challenges on standing (Not merit). Meaning they didn't want to be involved in election issues.

Yes. How many schools have two words that provide instant solidarity when you see someone with a cap or a sweatshirt in near or distant places?

I flinch as I say: "Fight on!"
..and Stanfurd: "We forfeit."
