Gosar is a tool. Republicans correctly didn't vote for censure because: (i) censure is rarely invoked even when congress members do or say incredibly stupid things (i.e., Omar's many anti-Semitic statements didn't even get a clear resolution of condemnation from the house, much less censure); (ii) historically censure is voted on only after a criminal conviction or the culmination of the mostly non-partisan house ethics process - neither of which happened here; and (iii) democrats refuse to hold their own to the same standard when saying things that might incite violence (Maxine Walters has overtly called for violence/physical confrontations).

The dems are so foolish. They removed Gosar from some meaningless committees and refused to seat the party chosen republicans on the 1/6 committee minority head. The 1/6 committee matter is a MASSIVE departure from norms - allowing the minority party to select its committee minority head is one of the few rights the minority party enjoys. The house is going to flip and the republicans are going to do the same things x 10.

At this point, I'm sure they will not return to norms or comity (there hasn't been comity in a long time).

The republicans were in control of the house from 2011-15. They were clearly oppositional on policy. But they didn't impeach Obama on strictly partisan basis like the dems did after abolishing the longstanding bipartisan procedures and rule (e.g., re issuance of congressional subpoenas). They didn't manipulate committees and prevent Dems from seating their preferred minority chairs. The didn't allow the head of the intelligence committees to leak and perpetuate a fake conspiracy that contributed to said impeachment and hold absurd hearings.
