Imagine both-sidesing a party running a sitting President and a party running a two-time popular vote losing, one-term, weak, failure.

Has a party ever given their own sitting President the boot?

They have to enact a maximum age limit to hold public office. I'm not sure of what that age is, but it is somewhere South of this:
