For those who say Trump isn't a fascist

Will those who support Trump record their uncompromising values here? I ask because before 2016, MAGA supporters talked about his "humor" and "exaggerations" and the things he "didn't mean." They spoke as if the things people warned against with Trump were ridiculous and things he would never do or things they would never agree with...and then they just kept changing their beliefs and values to shift with whatever Trump said or did.

So, here and now, state clearly the answer to these questions. If these are ridiculous and will never happen it should be very very easy to answer:

1) Will Trump sign a national abortion ban and do you agree with him doing so?

2) Will Trump implement anti-trans laws or dismantle same sex marriage and are you okay with that?

3) Will Trump ever reveal his tax returns or actual independent medical records, not fake summaries by loyalists and are you okay with him being the only president to not do this?

4) Will Trump prosecute political opposition and are you okay with that?

5) Will Trump fire experts throughout the government and install loyalists who only produce propaganda in line with whatever Trump says and are you okay with the government run by cronies rather than the experts in their fields?

6) Will Trump ever use the military against American citizens to suppress dissent and violate freedom to assemble and free speech and are you okay with that?

7) Will Trump end the ACA and replace it with the old insurance scam where pre-existing conditions are not covered and the high risk insured are cordoned off so that their treatment can be denied and not covered to protect health insurance company profits but it makes insurance "more affordable" for everyone else and are you okay with that?

8) Will Trump align with Christian Nationalism and further erode the separation of church and state and are you okay with America moving towards theocracy?

9) Will Trump move us away from democracy to authoritarianism and are you okay with that?

10) Will Trump support loyalty tests for citizens or those who are tasked with serving the public in government--especially if the loyalty being required is not to the Constitution or country, but to the president or his party/agenda and are you okay with that?

11) Will Trump censor or ban or de-license media/press that doesn't conform to his propaganda and are you okay with that?

12) Will Trump institute the primary parts of Project 2025 and are you okay with that?

13) Finally and most importantly, will he ignore or overturn sections of the Constitution and restrictions on presidential power and eliminate term limits to become a dictator or simply pass the presidency to his son/successor of his choice and are you okay with that?

I have no interest in whatabout responses or defenses of Trump. If these possibilities are all ridiculous and not things you would support it should be very easy to say so: "No I do not support it if Trump ends term limits" or "No I do not support the president limiting or censoring the press" for example.

But if you want to give yourself wriggle room to shift your values to align with whatever Trump does in office if he wins, then don't answer as I assume most you will do.

I think what Democrat Onions was trying to convey with his response was that your post was ridiculous. You have to use the correct terminology first.

Quote:

For those who say Trump isn't a fascist...

Fascist = Populist

For those who say Trump isn't a "populist"....

Answer: Trump is a populist. He brought RFK Jr., Elon Musk, and Tulsi to the team while neocons on the right such as Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger were voted out of office.

Quote:

Will Trump move us away from democracy to authoritarianism and are you okay with that?

"Democracy" = Left wing authoritarianism

Authoritarianism = Populism

"Will Trump move us away from left wing authoritarianism to populism and are you okay with that?"

Answer: Yes, I hope it happens, don't you?

Democracy is a form of government it has nothing to do with left or right. What I am asking is are you okay with Trump changing our form of government from its core principle where each citizen has an equal say of governance rather than the president or ruling class reducing or restricting the citizens governance. Examples of antidemocratic governance is voter restriction and an unchecked executive. Just because you may want Trump to enact certain policies or you disagree with the majority of citizens on issues like gun control and reproductive rights (yes those are clear majority held positions) and you get a government that gives you the policy you want, doesn't mean it is populist or democratic. The right has worked against democracy for decades. It seems because "your team" is getting policy you like you are willing to play word games and deny that these things are anti-democratic. So clearly as America becomes more authoritarian you will have no problem with it and not call it what it is. Having a majority within the Republican party is not the same thing as having a majority in the American public.

It reads to me like you and many on your team view any time you don't get what you want as fascism and a threat to Democracy. Accordingly, it is impossible to take your side seriously in this zone. See, Boy who cried wolf. Honestly, I think many on your side don't even know what fascism is, it's just The Left's latest phrase to howl at the moon about.

Projection. Sooooo much projection. Conservative voters really are morons, believing everything the liars and hypocrites tell them.

That is hilarious. I have never ever thought any politician or movement in America is fascist until now. The people who know Trump and know fascism think he is fascist. He praises dictators and fascists. He uses hyper nationalism, populism, symbols, violence, and othering as hallmarks of fascism. Fascism is a far right movement not from the left. And you claim "we" don't know the definition? We use words for their meaning. You use words for their propaganda and tribalism. Calling him a fascist is not a childish insult, it is a dire warning to people who refuse to listen and are willing to risk national and international crisis for the sake of stubborn loyalty and owning the Libs.

The left is not being irrational or alarmist, it is a clear eyed plea to not take a chance with this dangerous man. It's just not worth finding out if we are correct or the "pleasure" in voting for the man we detest. The stakes are too high and the vast vast majority of educated and moral people are seeing this. How you and other Trump supporters are willing to ignore the message being transmitted to you before it is too late is beyond me.

I would beg every Trump supporter to watch this Snyder video and at least pause to consider it. Very smart and informed political scientists and historians and those in the know are reaching out with important information. This is not an ordinary election. These are not ordinary stakes. This isn't a conservative vs liberal, my team and your team contest. This is our second national existential crisis. PLEASE don't whistle past the graveyard.

Please watch with an open mind:
