I suppose the voices who continue to say prices are too high are going for deflation. Because they want prices to roll back to where they were before.

Do they know what results from that?

MAGA is too busy plotting the takeover of Greenland. It would be a non-imperialistic takeover, though, so don't worry.

POTUS sets policy (trade, taxation) and works with Congress on items such as budget and spending, and also appoints the Secretary of the Treasury and the Fed Chairman.

Policies such as energy policy or environmental regulations have a direct effect on gas prices and food prices.

So yes, the POTUS has an important impact on inflation.

Safeway has become a joke with their pricing.

A Party Size bag of chips is now $6.95
20 lbs. of Cat Litter is $12.95

Although the President appoints the Fed Chairman, the FED is totally independent.
Everyone knows that. Including Donald Trump who appointed Jerome Powell and then had massive regret.

The FED answers to no one.
That's why they aren't even audited.

As far as energy prices are concerned, there's this organization called OPEC+ that controls a lot of the pricing.
You may have not heard of them before.

Biden reappointed Powell, who continued to enact inflationary policies despite the economy overheating with excessive demand and low supply.

So we agree about the Fed, appointed by POTUS.

Energy policy has a lot to do with gas prices and the price of inputs in food and other items. Environmental regulations and political decisions like the carbon tax or the rejection of Keystone XL affect oil and gas prices.

And contrary to the Trump "parrots", the United States (under the Biden Administration) has NEVER produced more domestic crude oil in the history of the nation.

That's a FACT.

As most of your "points" have been prone to be . . . this one is also completely irrelevant.
It has nothing to do with the INDEPENDENCE of the Federal Reserve.

The point that clearly escapes your cognitive ability is the FACT that the Federal Reserve Bank and it's Chairman are INDEPENDENT of the Executive Branch.

But if you use coupons the bag is half price. I know, I was just there.

I think they have the market cornered, like with an oligopoly, and so can charge whatever they like. If people are too lazy to bargain hunt, they just pick n pull and Pay.

Perhaps this is why Costco is so popular. They have more reasonable pricing. Walmart, too, but their product selection is low grade quality on food.
They sell a lot of **** that makes people fat with diabetes and heart attacks.
