How long do you want to ignore this user?

With a serious explanation or hypothesis that isn't fraud?

Why do you think it is ok for politicians to steal billions?

Why is usaid ok because some of the money goes to help people even though most of it is stolen?

Serious answers only please (or at least super snarky in a funny way)

Sigh

Mitch - Married money. Elain Chao is one of the heirs of a Tawainese American family who founded and operated a shipping company

Pelosi - Married into one of the prominent families in SF that traces its wealth back to the Gold Rush. Hint - through a pretty convoluted path our basketball arena bears the name of a branch of that group. I guess they suck also.

Schumar Worrisome. Welcome to NY politics. Not defending.

Warren -

My understanding is that a big chuck of her wealth is pretty similar to a bunch of the folks in Berkeley - she bought residential real estate low and has held it forever. So like a bunch of full profs in the Berkeley hills she is sitting on a a home bough 30 years ago that has 10x in value. She also did a bunch of book deals. Not really defending that but it isn't illegal and pretty standard.

I find it hysterical that Elon is railing against intergenerational wealth and is ignoring the billions in subsidies taht flow to space X and Tesla.

How do we know that opensecrets.org has accurate info? I doubt politicians are sharing that data with them. I know I wouldn't.

If you only paid per diem, then only wealthy people would run for office. Middle class politicians without other income need not apply. As it is, some Congresspeople have trouble paying for a home in Washington DC and a residence in their home district. It's an old data point, but when Ron Dellums was the Congressman for Oakland and Berkeley, he used his Mother's home as his in district residence. She lived down the block from me and over many years in office, I only saw him there once.

I have thought for awhile that an answer to this was for the feds to buy the.watergate or some inherent big complex. Rent out rooms at a discount and.require roommates. Ideally mix up r and d or offer discounts of rented by bipartisan group. People could still rent grown townhouses of they had means up would be great for lots of folks.
