Interesting situation. Curious what people here think.

For me, I think if you are trying to administer a meet with hundreds of people and folks are off doing their own ****, with chemicals, smoke… then it's just going to continue.

Why not light a rocket?
Firecrackers?
Water balloons?

Is the whole situation stupid? Of course!
But why do people think their own public spaces?
And then some want to claim it's because of racism?

In case you are unfamiliar . . .

Clara Adams was stripped of her 400m State Title and banned from running in the 200m Final.
Which she had earned the previous day during the trials.

She was charged by officials for having committed unsportsmanlike conduct.
Yet, she did not open up the fire extinguisher on the track nor did she do it in front of her competitors to embarrass them.

Morons emphasize that her opponents were gone and she didn't do it on the track. Well, she discharged the fire extinguisher a foot away from the track and "the crowd went crazy" so there were certainly a lot of folks still there. It looks like the officials pulled her away from the track after she discharged the fire extinguisher and her aggressive father/coach broke a rule, hopped a railing, and trespassed onto the infield to protect her / confront them.

Bad sportsmanship, but I disagree with stripping her of the title. This doesn't mean the officials are racist, as morons are contending. What is the appropriate sanction? A fine?

If we can't even speculate that a FINE should be issued over disqualification, I suppose the officials were correct given Diablo's narrow-mindedness. Morons gonna moron. Oh well.

For the morons sitting waaaaaay in the back . . . the appropriate remedy would have been to DQ her from the 400m, but let her continue to compete in the 200m which she qualified for.

Monetary fine is a nonstarter.

I think I'd say you can't stand on the podium. Take your medal, but no podium moment if you feel you needed your fire extinguisher moment.

My 813 reply was originally typed prior to the post you made above it. My most recent reply was to your obnoxious moronic reply to me. Are you seriously surprised that I replied to your arrogant bs? As for disqualifying her from only the 400, that seems reasonable. However, I am a bit surprised that you are saying that is reasonable after ranting in multiple topics about how the officials were racist for seemingly disqualifying her at all. Do you have multiple personalities or do you just forget what the other hand is doing?

I was ok with the actions the CIF took here. No place for that kind of stuff. Let that go and more comes about later.

I think that he was trying to create a Maurice Greene "moment" for her daughter.
It clearly backfired.

The irony here is DEAFENING.

The CIF does everything it can to accommodate a biological boy in the girls competition (AB Hernandez), and yet strips an athlete of their title and bans them from running in another event.

On a sidenote, the transgender athlete's Mom had voted for Trump because she thought he was a good "businessman". - - - But she now has regrets.

Totally, on both counts.

I imagine the people who made the decision are not skilled politicians.

Gavin Newsom could step in and mediate the situation. I propose a Beer Summit between the father, himself, and the CIF board. Have the father make a public apology for bad advice for his daughter and restore her crown.

I think people are forgetting that this is a 15 year-old girl we're talking about. Considering that Maurice Green's fire extinguisher stunt happened ~five years before she was even born, it's certain that her dad put her up to this and of course, he facilitated it. He's the one showing the bad judgment, she's just following her dad's lead. So kick him out of the meet and put her on the podium. Nonetheless, there's a lesson here for her, too. Track is an individual sport, but when you wear your school's jersey, you represent the school. I think you leave it up to her coach to drive the point home - maybe require her to perform some community service activity, as well as apologizing to her teammates, if not the entire school.
