On 9/11

Vance began: "We're about to celebrate the 25th year…" Then he caught himself. "Uh, commemorate."

This definitely needed it's own thread. Slip of the tongue big whoopie.

Seems to be an awful lot of "slip-ups" going around in Trump's cabinet lately.

Another Moron.

I can't imagine having a son or daughter in the Military right now in the Middle East and knowing that our Vice President claims that we are not in a war with IRAN because there "is no active shooting".

GOOD TO KNOW JD.

JD MUST STAND FOR "JUST DUMB"

WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President JD Vance on Thursday, September 3, rejected describing the United States' ongoing conflict with Iran as a "war," even as the two countries have exchanged strikes in recent days.

Vance said there was no active shooting at the time of his White House briefing but acknowledged that fighting had recently "flared up." He also declined to give a timeline for when the conflict, which has now lasted more than six months, could end.

JD Vance says he wouldn't call conflict with Iran a 'war'

My bad.
It really ain't a big deal at all because it's not a WAR.

18 Americans killed and 687 wounded.
But it's not a WAR.

Thank You Mr. Vice President.

JD Vance is actually very smart.

Raised in poor Appalachia by his addict single mom and grandparents, he earned a law degree from Yale Law School on a full scholarship. He also wrote Hillbilly Elegy, a bestselling memoir that brought him national attention.

And now he has national attention for being a moron.

18 Americans killed and 687 wounded.

But JD Vance doesn't think we are at War.
Brilliant.

There is currently no active ground combat or continuous shooting. He has grounds to not call it a war, and it may be a good strategic decision, even if it offends the ignorant.

Vance has always seemed very intelligent, JMO. The last 1-1/2 years, though, he seems somewhat less so, as if being around a lot of those clowns is sapping his smarts. Or maybe he's trying to appeal to their base.

I wouldnt call the families of U.S. military personnel killed or wounded in this WAR ignorant for being offended by Vance's remarks.

Moreover, your claim of "strategy" has no basis in fact.
Trump has called it a WAR.

Trump himself said in July that the U.S. was
"doing very well... in the war".

Ignorance is bliss.

And realizing that there is no "strategic" reason for not calling it a WAR, like Trump did.

Thanks.

Trump is one of the smartest presidents, politically, we've ever had.

The dude was able to market himself as a populist and got elected twice. And the second time, people had had eight years to see what they were voting for. Trump understands that voters nowadays often appreciate authenticity over somebody that seems "packaged" every time they talk (Kamala Harris). He absolutely possesses some of the many facets of "intelligence". For those that don't agree, I would suggest that they go out, do what Trump has done, say what Trump has said... and try and get 80 million people (or whatever) to vote for them for President.

Now, are their many facets of intelligence in which Trump would not score highly? Of course.

JD Vance says that the $5,000 Trump Dividend will be paid from tariff revenue.

Huh?

$165 Billion doesnt cover $1.3 Trillion.

A few things that Trump has figured out:
  • There's a sizable portion of the population who feels they've been screwed by one or more of the following: their boss, their teachers, the government. This population will follow anybody who claims to champion their cause, particularly if this person says and acts in a way that they always wished they had.
  • Emotion is a bigger motivator than evidence.
  • When you have a choice between the moral high-ground and power, choose power every time.
  • Politicians are scared of losing elections. If you have power over this, you can easily bend them to your will.
Something his underlings may have figured out for him:
  • The major enforcement mechanism for the federal court system is the Justice Dept. If you control Justice, you can ignore or dilute what the court system says.

He wasn't even good at that:

Producers of The Apprentice, including Bill Pruitt and Adam Blum, recalled that Donald Trump's actual offices at Trump Tower featured dated, musty carpets and chipped furniture when they first scouted locations in the early 2000s.

Musty Smell: Producers noted a strong, unpleasant odor from the old carpeting that seemed to linger.

The Illusion of Wealth: Because the real offices were cramped and worn, television producer Mark Burnett and his team had to build a fake, upscale boardroom on a separate floor to project an image of immense success and wealth.

Neither are you
https://www.yahoo.com/news/cnn-kaitlan-collins-calls-j-144844271.html

Quote:

Then Collins threw out his previous defense of Jan. 6 rioters, saying "I'm just checking because you did help raise money for people who did so on January 6th, which was, you know, impeding an official proceeding, breaking into a building that they weren't allowed to be in and vandalizing the Capitol."

"I know that this is the obsession of the national media to talk about what happened two years ago, three years ago," Vance responded testily.

"It's not an obsession," Collins said. "I'm just seeing if it's a double standard."

Vance interrupted Collins saying "No, let me answer the question."

"If you beat up a cop, of course, you deserve to go to prison. If you violated the law, you should suffer the consequences," Vance said. "But there are people who protested on January the 6th who have had the complete weight of the Justice Department thrown at them when at worst, they're accused of misdemeanors."

Vance did acknowledge that "there are people who are accused of worse offenses, and that's a problem."
