Don't do it, Bearister! I'm sitting this one out like I did the inauguration. Just watch clips of a president needing two hands to drink water later.

I wasn't going to watch initially but I think I will now. He's incredible. The best train wreck ever.

I prefer to read the subject heading of this thread as my venerable colleague Bearister speaking like Chaka from Land of the Lost.

I will watch the Warriors and then a Rachel Maddow Post Mortem. If I watched I would throw a can of Guinness at my TV. How great would it be if when tRump calls out some guest in the FLOTUS' box that Melatonin flipped him the bird.

Quin Snyder looks like dudes in the 1960s that had morphine habits.

Jimmy Kimmel has Stormy Daniels on tonight after the SOTU. Wonder if he asks about, I don't know, hand size or pee parties.

He is just doing it to p@ss off tRump. She signed a confidentiality agreement so she won't talk absent subpoena or other court order.

I generally didn't watch the SOTU even when it was a President I liked. No chance now.

Gee, It took the Grump over a year to decide that on infrastructure that he wasn't going to do s**t.
WE have a sweetheart private sector freeway project (toll road) near me, Losing money big time; would have ten times the traffic if it had been a public freeway. But because it has been losing money, in a couple of years the state will have to make the toll road builder whole and buy him out so that he makes a bundle on the failure. The cost will likely be double what it would have been if it had been publicly financed in the first place. The 'genius' whiffed on providing a useful infrastructure proposal. Seems like the Secretary of Transportation would have known that the vast majority of railroads in this country are privately owned; so a private sector 'solution' is a Homer Simpson brain fart. Maybe the Grump just can't listen...

One tidbit from Stormy's 2011 article was that she and Trump had unprotected sex.

"Having my baby, what a lovely way to show much you love me..."

Trump thoughtfully thanked his newlywed third bride and celebrated the birth of his fifth child by banging a porn star. What a selfless charming gift.

Kimmel had six Trump supporters on to discuss their opposition to DACA. One guy said he wanted to see Dreamers deported before MS-13 criminals.

Kimmel introduced his Trump panel to a woman who came to the US from Mexico City at age two. Registered as a Dreamer, has a social security card, works, pays taxes, no criminal record, nursing student. Engaged with an infant child. Fiance is a US citizen, born in Kansas, and about to be deployed abroad via the National Guard. The two biggest aholes insisted the mother still needs to be deported, despite potentially being denied reentry to the US for up to 10 years.

It was a good speech and good theater even if you dislike Trump. People underestimate him but he has a mad political genius and is master of the wedge issue. He grabbed the economy, national security and-most importantly-immigration as his issues as the Democrats pouted in their resistance attire. The Democrats have a lot of work to do

Yeah, I kinda feel sorry for the Democrats. During the SOTU address they all looked like they were suffering from a severe attack of hemorrhoids, or as Brit Hume said, "They all looked like their dogs died."

It was indeed a fantastic speech. I read somewhere this morning that it was the highest-rated speech in Americna history.

Trump really is making a difference.

Is this any different from how the opposing party always looks? Hell, one of the Republicans actually yelled at Obama one time.

Which of those democrats would you call a patriot? I'm no Trump enthusiast, but it's hard to deny that he has the economy humming, as evidenced by the sustained GDP growth of over 3% and the booming stock market. Although his tax reform plan hurts me badly because of the limit on property tax deduction (I own 3 houses in California) it clearly is good for the vast majority of Americans and most Californians in the middle class. And then you have the announced bonuses of $1,000 to 2,000 for over 3 million workers so far as well as the increases in wages and/or 401K contributions already announced by many companies. Although this may be crumbs to mega millionaires like Nancy Pelosi, I'm willing to bet that most of the benificiaries don't view these outcomes as "crumbs". Then you have his proposal on immigration reform and dealing with the DACA situation, which seems quite reasonable to me; I think the dems will have a hard time ultimately denying a path to citizenship for 1.8 people in this category, and I commend Trump for taking a risk in standing up to his base on this issue. Give the guy a chance; he's not all bad.

I very much doubt that any President can have much impact on the health of the economy within the first year. The American economy doesn't turn that quickly. You are essentially praising him for continuing the trends set in motion by his predecessor.

If this continues for the next four years I'll give him credit for that.

I'm sure he'll do plenty of other things I don't like, but if the economy is still good in four years I'll say he gets some credit for that, yes. I'm not immune to outside evidence.

I am skeptical that the economy actually will be good by then, but I don't have a crystal ball.
