Well, some will always be cool.

I hope so. Tattoos are butt-ugly. I know people have the right to do what they want to their body in the name of 'expression' or 'art', but I have every right to think that expression or art is 'ugly' or 'stupid'.

Tattoos on the arms, back, and legs are uncool, but face tattoos are still cool.

Tats were cool...when you couldn't get them removed. Traditional tats are good, still have spiritual value to some.

I don't remember the comedian but he said it, "Tats took off once laser removal became a thing."

But yeah...when Bieber and Levine get biker tats as fashion accessories..it's shark jumping time. Looks goofy and trying too hard now...but wait 30-40 years.

p.s. Look away.........

I hate tattoos. Seeing them is like nails to the chalkboard for me. I don't hate them that much. You can't watch football without seeing tattoos. Also, I lived next to a tattoo parlor for many years. But in general I hate sleeves, sentences, paragraphs and faces. I can't look at shirtless Adam Levine or Kat Van D.

Part of is that I've always had sensitive skin. So I can't imagine doing that if you had normal skin.

My thinking is that so many people in their 20s-50s have tattoos that when they all get old, and their tats look disgusting by stretched-out skin, the subsequent generations will "rebel" by not getting tattoos.

No tattoos for me, but I guess that makes them cool. I often ask about people's tat's when there is an opportunity. The stories behind them are often very cool.

The lower back tattoo trend, which is late 90s/00s, was the worst. Even Julia Roberts had one.

Really interesting topic. When tattoos were just a thing that white trash had, I felt like it was okay to hate on tattoos and their exhibitors. Now that it's so prevalent among minorities, I'm worried that hating tattoos makes one a racist. So, I'm trying to be more open-minded and only hate tattoos on white people.

I told my son that he could only get one tattoo I would approve of. He never got in the situation to get it.

Tats can be very cool indeed; however, all these tats (shown above) are very uncool, poorly executed or just in bad taste worn by apparently clueless people.

Poor haircuts and a really bad USMC tat attempt.

Reminds me of this article on Kaepernick from 2012 from a writer outraged that a starting QB had tattoos:

That's what I'm talking about. I mean that was pretty overtly (and possibly unintentionally publicly) racist, but my dislike of tattoos could be perceived as racist with tattoos becoming so prevalent amongst minorities in the spotlight.

I'm sorry but this is a completely ridiculous argument. Essentially you are saying because tattoos are prevalent among minorities, hating on tattoos is racist. That is ridiculous, my hatred of tattoos stems from their lack of aesthetic appeal, not because of the race of the person with the tattoo. Furthermore, disliking something that is prevalent in a specific minority culture is not racist. I don't like sushi, does that make me racist against Japanese people. The answer is no, because it is a matter of personal taste, and people don't control their own taste. Every person is allowed to enjoy or not enjoy something based on their personal taste, the bigger issue is how you treat someone. Although I don't like tattoos, I'm not going to treat someone with tattoos differently. As for Kap, I fully support his kneeling and free speech, I think he is an average quarterback worthy of being on a roster as a second or third string player, I still don't like his tattoos.

GS - in case it wasn't clear, my post was in jest.

Except the part where I said I hate tattoos - that was 100% true.

Unfortunately, I totally missed that. My bad. But the truth remains, tattoos are ugly.

Some of my favorite face tattoos are on white folks. God bless them.
