Noah Pulealii
The local road grading OG from SalinasWe're hearing Noah Pulealii is a strong UCLA lean at the moment. That's in addition to the recent Crystal Balls the 247 analysts have put in for him to the Bruins. If this comes to pass, it will be the second OL that Cal has really wanted (in addition to one other offeree) to choose UCLA over the Bears. In Thomas Cole's case it was clearly Westwood vs. Berkeley that was among the important factors. There may be some negative recruiting against Angus McClure as well.

Offensive Line Recruiting Update - 2021
Thomas Cole 's decision to commit to UCLA was a surprise and a blow. Cal had been in a strong position with him, however, he really felt Westwood vs. Berkeley in terms of a college town feel and give credit to UCLA's staff for building a strong relationship with him.One thing the Bruins can sell is a sparse depth chart on the offensive line, whilst Cal's is far healthier. Generally, that's not a factor at offensive line where players generally take 2+ years to develop into potential starters, however, there's been a real trend of freshman and RS freshman playing early and often. The Bears like where they sit at this position group. With Swinny on board, taking two to three more would be ideal from a group that still contains Austin Barry , Noah Pulealii , Garrett DiGiorgio , and Jordan Moko Despite 16 offers, Moko is unrated and we believe is looking to leave Utah. Cal needs to get him on campus and then the odds go up dramatically. In the wake of Cole's decision, the Bears chances with Barry can only have risen. Puleali is focused on Oklahoma and Cal. In the midst of COVID, it's good to be the hometown school.DiGiorgio will be a battle. He was leaning to the Bruins before the Cole commitment. Cal feels good about where they sit with all four, much as they did with Cole. And remember, this is the one year where the gap between verbals and signed LOIs may be miles wide.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Bear Insider rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Bear Insider Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Bear Insider readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Cal and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Cal and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
