2021 WR Rumblings
A lot of moving pieces in the past 24+ hoursUW believes they have an imminent commitment coming from Jabez Tinae As a result, Cal target Lonyatta Alexander whose commitment has long been seen as a Bears vs.UW contest, just became far more likely to matriculate to Berkeley in 2021Cristian Dixon has made a few cryptic Tweets which coincided with some intriguing Tweets from the Cal staff but this feels like a case where it's far more smoke than fireWe continue to believe that Cal will take Alexander's commitment whenever he's ready and then look to close one of Hal Presley , J Michael Sturdivant or Michael Jackson III to finish out the WR classAs always, recruiting is a dynamic process and there's a LOT of water to go under the bridge before December

Some recruiting notes
Cal is in very good shape with Ty Thompson . That may change after he visits Cal again and Oregon over the next week. However, he's hit it off well with Musgrave and academics matter to him.Bears are very much still in it with Miller Moss . His recruitment feels like, below the public persona, there have been some swings. Baldwin's departure was a concern, USCs retention of Harrell was a win for the Trojans, UCLA did a nice job in marketing to him, etc. Thus, I suspect that at various times over the last 90 days, all three schools have had moments where they were his first choice. Cal has the advantage of being steadier and more constant as it relates to program stability and lower risk of HC changes. Oregon does not feel like a likely destination with a potential Stanford offer looming as a difference-maker. WR recruiting is one to watch as the staff works through its priority rankings against a robust group of potential options. Cal made a strong impression on Michael Jackson III and while his recruitment has blown up with offers from UCLA, Oregon and USC recently, the Bears are in a good position. Junior Alexander grew up a Cal fan and that's his dream school. As MB previously mentioned, look for the Bears to take three hereStrong start to OL recruiting. In great shape with a bunch of folks including Will Reed and Owen Prentice

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Bear Insider rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Bear Insider Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Bear Insider readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Cal and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Cal and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
