Friday AM Update
Greetings from gay Paris. Instead of scouting WRs and TEs, I'm working on Burgundy's and Bordeauxs.Between bites of Epoisse and sips of a Haut-Medoc, I'm hearing Jackson Brown is ready to pop for the Bears. The decision is likely made, timing may be based on his continuing to enjoy the additional offers and attention. Look for Mom to put her foot down and an announcement to be made soon. That will have implications for Sam Yoon. I'll put myself out there and suggest that once Jackson announces that will lead to Sam following him to Berkeley. Such strong relationships with both of these young men and the staff and wouldn't want to bet against Angus and Wilcox to close them both out.We still feel good about Tyler Banks though he's pretty careful on what he tells folks (look for an upcoming interview with Moraga Bear) and I wouldn't be surprised to see another announcement on top of or in lieu of potential ones from the three above mentioned recruits before this week is out.A Bientot and Go Bears!

Couple of 2022 Recruiting Notes
Given the OL commit who will announce on Thursday, expect to see Dylan Lopez go elsewhere as the musical chairs make spots hard to come byLuka Vincic had a strong visit and is one the Bears staff likes a lot at OT. The dominoes at OL will be interesting to watch and don't sleep on Vincic alongside Yoon and Ramsey.VA Athlete Tyler Banks is one to keep an eye on. Cal is likely to take only one ILB and is very high on the athletic and studious banks. Despite offers from Michigan, Va Tech, Tenn and Vandy, the feeling is mutualIn terms of the next player to commit (other than the silent OL), my pick is Jaydn Ott . The speedy and physical Nevada RB comes to Berkeley this week. Given the commitment of KJ and Ott's lack of additional scheduled official visits, the stars may be aligned. If there's a player that could give him a run for his money in terms of the next verbal, look no further than fast-rising CB, Jeremiah Earby . If UCLA fails to offer him today, don't be surprised to see him pull the trigger for the Bears.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Bear Insider rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Bear Insider Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Bear Insider readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Cal and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Cal and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
