Some quick hits
Acalanes won their state bowl game as WR Trevor Rogers posted 140 yards, and 2 TDs on 7 catches. He finished his career with otherworldly production and looks big and fast. A very underrated HS playerKEO is likely headed to Ohio State, where he's visiting this weekend. Look for him to be a star in the B10 and then head to the NFL in the 2025 draftThe Bears get a flip from Stanford with Athlete Luke Ferrelli He is both a promising LB and TE. Ran a 4.56, broad jumped 10'6 and posted a VJ of 37" this Summer - those are exceptional #'s for a 6'3, 220lb prep player. He's slated to play ILB at CalQB Chandler Rogers commitment is as good as could be expected for the Bears. A two year starter, whose very productive in similar schemes, is naturally accurate and he can run. Not an elite player so couldn't demand a P5 starting job yet can absolutely compete for one. Mendoza will still enter Spring as the starter and will likely be pushedIt's not a done deal, but I feel good about JC DB Isaiah Crosby choosing Cal tomorrow. He's a natural centerfielder at Safety, slender but good speed and a natural ball hawk. If he does choose to matriculate to Berkeley, he may get a long look in the NB role as well as at Safety'24 ILB commit Eze Osondu just earned the Defensive MVP nod for the District 4-6A in Texas. Another very good-looking LB prospectSpeaking of ILB, Cal should start the year with two very good players in Cade Uluave and UCD transfer Teddye BuchananQB Sam Jackson III enters the portal but is not a sure thing to leave. He's got work to do to stay at Cal yet has a desire to do so. If he does stay, look for him to get a long look as a slot WRRecent HS WR Commit Josiah Martin isn't particularly big nor blessed with big time track speed. Yet, he's got typewriter quick feet and very good acceleration out of his cuts. Reminds me of Brian Treggs (the older) as a big play threat from the slot. Explosive ability at a position where Cal needs more production in 2024The positions to watch as things progress in the portal and the HS class is finalized are the OL and the DL
