Off the radar younger Bears to watch in 2020 - OLB
Depth at OLB behind Tevin Paul and Cameron Goode will be interesting to watch. Braxten Croteau played quite a bit as a true freshman and is more of a known quantity but there are a few others worth watching.Ryan Puskas is a rangy 6'3 and 220. Puskas was the leading tackler for one of Arizona's top programs and showed his athleticism playing safety and the wildcat QB on offense. He impressed on Scout teams last yearOrin Patu is another long levered OLB and a pass-rushing specialist at 6'4 and 220. The former 4 star recruit has great natural bend and good burst (ran a 4.69 40 as a HS Junior) which may have him in position to see snaps on obvious passing downs in 2020Curley Young is a more stoutly built but bull strong OLB. Young flashed his strength with a 45 foot Powerball toss which was among the top 10 in the nation for all 2019 recruits. Myles Jernigan is a Texas product who dealt with injuries much of last Fall. Before he got hurt, he popped in camp displaying his explosive athleticism (4.12 short shuttle and 36.5 inch vertical in HS). The 6'3, 220 OLB has a very high ceiling

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Bear Insider rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Bear Insider Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Bear Insider readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Cal and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Cal and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
