Big, fast tailback nets Cal offer

Israel Abanikanda from Brooklyn, NY adds a Bears offer.5'11 and 200lbs, Israel just ran a 10.6 100M at his most recent track meet.What's good here is his size/speed combination and his versatility as a receiver along with playing tailback. Israel's got an interesting running style in a lower, forward body lean and is more of a swerver than a lateral cut guy. That allows him to keep his speed up while losing something in elusiveness.Not sure how physical he is despite his strong frame and while his top end speed is near elite, he's not as sudden with his first few steps as would be ideal.He has a lot of East Coast attention with BC, Va Tech, Pitt and Rutgers offering among others. Likely a long shot unless Cal gets a visit.

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions
