Despite beating Weber State 33-20 last Saturday, Cal was far from pleased with its performance, especially on defense. The Bears allowed 571 yards, including 431 through the air, and eight plays that went for more than 20 yards.

"There were a lot of mental errors," said defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter. "Clearly we didn't execute very well and our guys were not pleased with how we played.
