Report Card: Cal vs Pepperdine

November 6, 2019

When the Bears went down 35-28 with 1:43 left in the first half of last night’s game against Pepperdine, you could feel the collective worry in Haas Pavilion. It was a familiar feeling of “here we go again.” On the next possession, Grant Anticevich had his three-point attempt swatted out of the air in an athletic block by Pepperdine’s Kessler Edwards. Anticevich calmly collected the ball and kicked it to Kareem South on the left side, tho canned a three.

After a pair of Colbey Ross free-throws giving the Waves a 37-31 lead, Anticevich drilled a turn-around fade-away jumper and after another Pepperdine miss, Jacobi Gordon drew a foul and knocked down both free-throws to bring the Bears within two heading into the locker room.
