Welcome Kaleb
Can't wait to see you on the field early..Shut down Slovis after what he did to us last year..
The Bears’ talented 2021 recruiting class continued to get more impressive by the day as the Bears added their second commit in the last week following last week’s commitment of Arizona QB Kai Millner and sixth overall with the commitment of 6-2/175 Folsom cornerback Kaleb Higgins.
The 3 star junior athlete stars on both sides of the ball for Folsom and has the length the Bears covet in their corners, though his skill set also translates well to the safety position, where he could easily wind up at Cal.
Higgins kept his announcement short and sweet, tweeting, “Doesn’t take long to learn that the West Coast is the best coast.”
COMMITTED. #GOBEARS
Cal fans can look for future showdowns between Higgins and his brother Elijah, who was an UnderArmor All-American who started as a true frosh vs. Cal in the 2019 Big Game.
Both played at Bowie High School in Austin, Texas before the family moved to California with the elder Higgin’s move to Stanford.
Ironically enough, a Cal 2019 commit -OLB Orin Patu- saw his younger brother Ari commit to Stanford today, as well. Both were Cal and Stanford recruits, though the Bears had yet to offer QB Patu and the Cardinal had not yet offered Higgins.
Cal beat out USC, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska, Baylor, Texas A&M and more for Higgins’ services.
Stay tuned for more from the Bears’ latest commit.
