Head coach Justin Wilcox announced Friday that fullback Drew Schlegel has signed a financial aid agreement to join the Cal football program. Schlegel is a graduate transfer with one season of collegiate eligibility remaining and eligible to play immediately for the Golden Bears. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Kentucky in May of 2020.

"Drew will have the opportunity to help us both on offense and special teams, and he will be a great fit at Cal academically and socially," Wilcox said. "He will also embrace the role of being a good teammate. We're happy to have him on board."
