Bears Host Group of '22 Signees, '23 Targets This Weekend
The Bears will be hosting a pair of future Bears and five 2023 recruits for session 11 of spring practice Saturday.
The signees:
6-4/235 Regis Jesuit (Aurora, CO) High School outside linebacker Nunie Tuitele
Justin Wilcox On Nunie Tuitele
“Nunie is a strong edge defender with quality pass rush production who projects as an outside linebacker in our defense. Not only is he big and strong, but he’s also a sound technician who shows impressive hand use with the ability to shock and shed blockers. He is strong at the point of attack and plays with a strong motor.”
6-5/215 Columbus (Miami, FL) QB Fernando Mendoza
Justin Wilcox On Fernando Mendoza
”Fernando comes to us from Miami. He’s a guy that we’d been watching and we got much more intrigued as the recruiting process went on. He’s a very intelligent guy and an all-around athlete. He can really throw the football and has got a huge upside, we think.
2023 Recruits:
6-3/295 Cathedral (Los Angeles, CA) High School 3 star defensive tackle Ashton Sanders
Perhaps the top target on the Bears’ DT board, Sanders holds offers from Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Utah, Colorado, and more.
6-4/320 Grant Union (Sacramento, CA) 3 star offensive guard Alani Noa
One of the Bears’ top interior line targets, the Bears get their first visit from Noa this weekend. They’ll likely have to do battle with Oregon for his commitment. Noa also holds offers from USC, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, and more.
6-6/280 Basha (Chandler, AZ) High school 3 star offensive tackle James Durand
Besides the Bears, the big OT holds offers from Wisconsin, Utah, Colorado, Oregon State, and more.
6-7/290 Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, CA) High School offensive tackle Luke Baklenko. The long OT was offered by Cal earlier this month. He also holds offers from BC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, WSU, and more.
6-6/325 St. Augustin (San Diego, CA) 3 star offensive tackle Misael Sandoval
