Bears Add Another Portal Transfer in UNLV DB Nohl Williams
The Bears added their second portal addition of the weekend with the commitment of UNLV redshirt soph corner Nohl Williams.
The 6-0/185 Williams was a preseason 2nd team All-Conference player and totaled 39 tackles, 3 interceptions including a 62-yard interception return, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovered and 5 passes defended in 2022.
As a redshirt frosh in 2021, Williams had 8 starts and finished tied for 10th on the team with 33 total tackles and added a team-leading four pass breakups. He started 5 of 6 games as a true frosh in the abbreviated 2020 season, finishing 5th on the squad with 25 tackles, adding an interception and a fumble recovery as well.
A 3-year varsity player with Oxnard’s Pacifica High School, he led his team to their first CIF State Championship with a 15-1 record his senior season, adding 74 tackles and seven interceptions in 2019. He played cornerback, safety, wide receiver and punt returner during prep career while also competing in track for the Tritons.
Williams joins recently-committed Colorado cornerback portal transfer Kaylin Moore as the Bears’ first two portal transfers of the season.
