LOS ANGELES – The California men’s basketball team was defeated by USC 97-60 on Thursday night at the Galen Center.

Monty Bowser led the Golden Bears (3-23, 2-13 Pac-12) in scoring for the second consecutive game with 13 points. Kuany Kuany finished with 11 points and five rebounds while ND Okafor added a career-high 11 points as well. It was Cal’s 10th straight loss since Jan. 11 while the Trojans (18-8, 10-5) extended their home win streak to 13 consecutive games.

USC raced out to a 13-0 advantage before Cal made its first basket on a jumper by Okafor five minutes into the contest. The slow start set the tone as the Trojans were in front by as many as 28 points in the first half and took a 50-23 lead into the intermission. The Trojans’ lead extended to 40 with 4:06 remaining in the game.

USC shot 58.9% from the floor, hitting 33 of 56 field-goal attempts, including 12 of 23 from behind the arc. The Bears shot 50% (13 of 26) in the second half but made only eight field goals across the first 20 minutes of play.

Drew Peterson scored a career-high 30 points and added seven rebounds and six assists to pace the Trojans.

Doubled up at the half and down 40 (FOURTY!). Change is desperately needed

"Fall" is a kind word to use.

That Grant poster over their 7 foot shot blocker was great to see. After that he was calling for the ball and posted up another player for the score. Loved his aggressiveness.

Okofor also showed a lot of fight, and had an explosive dunk. Okofor is impressing me with his strength and explosiveness. He also has some nice back to the basket post moves and a solid 15 footer.

Nice to see the two freshmen not back down when SC was in their face
